Mind-body connection

Mind and body are a team, they are interdependent and interact with each other. All expressive therapies (art, music, dance, theatre therapy, etc.) take precisely this fact into account.

Post-traumatic disorders are often triggered by physical events and, in turn, chronic pain or persistent tension can be caused by unresolved issues.

In my form of art therapy, the body is involved as much as possible. Sometimes we start with breathing exercises or chanting, other times we draw a body silhouette or paint to the rhythm of music or drumming.

Clay field work

Transferring strong emotions into clay can have a liberating effect. For the treatment of psychosomatic pain, it can be helpful to simply let ‘it’ flow.

As a therapeutic approach, the Clay Field is particularly suited to those suffering from trauma, abuse related issues, grief and loss issues, insecure early attachment patterns

Guided Drawing

Guided Drawing uses rhythmic bilateral repetition to explore emotions and felt sensations in the body as flowing or blocked internal movements. Trauma manifests physiologically as bracing patterns, tension, pain or numbness, accompanied by strong emotions
